Charles N. Lineberger, CLU, CEBS, QPFC, CFP® has been active in insurance planning and employee benefits since 1984. He graduated Magna Cum Lauda with a B.A. in Religion from Gardner Webb College in 1981.
The Solomon S. Huebner School of The American College awarded him the title of Chartered Life Underwriter in 1999.
Charles earned his CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation in 2003. The CEBS program is an eight-course curriculum that covers all aspects of employee benefits. The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania co-sponsor the CEBS program.
Charles obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification in 2010.
Charles earned his QPFC (Qualified Plan Financial Consultant) credential in 2012. In earning the credential, Charles completed a rigorous academic curriculum with a comprehensive program in retirement planning. The coursework required an in-depth understanding of several plan areas such as 401(k) plan design, eligibility and vesting, defined benefit and defined contribution, and distributions & taxation. Additionally, the program required mastery of major fiduciary aspects including prohibited transaction rules, fiduciary duties and responsibilities, oversight of plan expenses, and plan conversions.
Charles is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, the National Association of Health Underwriters, and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. He is a past President of the Gaston County Association of Life Underwriters and a past President of the Western Piedmont Estate Planning Council. In addition, Charles was involved in the Gastonia Jaycees and is a past President and current member of the Noon Optimist Club of Gastonia.
